Our Story

Waypoint Finance Advisory was created from a simple observation: the financial practices that help large companies manage change, plan ahead, and make better decisions are just as valuable for smaller, growing businesses — when they are translated in a customized way.

Many business leaders reach a point where instinct and informal reporting are no longer enough. The business is bigger, the decisions are heavier, and the moving pieces are harder to see clearly. Waypoint was built for that stage.

Our work brings order to complexity. We design practical financial tools, planning routines, and performance insights that help leaders cut through uncertainty, focus on what matters, and move forward with more confidence.

Mission/Vision

Waypoint Finance Advisory exists to give growing businesses the financial clarity, structure, and planning discipline they need to make better decisions with confidence.

We aim to become the trusted finance and planning partner for leaders of growth-stage businesses that have outgrown informal reporting, reactive planning, and gut-feel decision-making. Through practical financial design, scalable routines, and a clear view of what is driving performance, Waypoint helps leaders build stronger businesses without adding unnecessary complexity.

Meredith McCay

Founder & Principal Advisor

Meredith McCay brings 15+ years of finance and planning experience from both large, complex Fortune 500 companies and more nimble entrepreneurial environments.

Much of her career was spent in moments of transition: building new planning routines, improving executive reporting, supporting fast-changing business needs, and navigating a widely publicized merger that doubled her company’s size overnight. She learned how to bring calm to the storm, turn ambiguity into structure, and enable leaders to focus on the decisions that mattered most.

She lives in the Charlotte, NC region with her family. Outside of work and family life, she is usually hiking, mountain biking, planning her next travel adventure, or getting slightly in over her head with a home renovation project.
